How to Measure
Because the perfect fit is like finding the right pair of jeans – it makes all the difference. As easy as 1-2-3
SHOP MY SHADEInside Mount
Step 1: Decide Inside Mount if
Window opening has at least 2-1/2" depth (D) at top (if less, choose outside mount)
You want a clean, built-in look and your window frame can support the shade weight
Window is square/rectangular with no obstructions (handles, cranks) protruding more than 1.25"
Step 2: Measure the Width
Measure opening width (W) at the top & round down to nearest 1/4". This is your order width (includes valance)
We'll deduct about 1/4" for proper fit so you don’t have to
Actual fabric will be about 1/2" more narrow than the valance on each side to accommodate hardware & motor
Step 3: Measure the Height
Measure opening height at left (H1) & right (H2). Round each down to nearest 1/4" & use the larger of H1 or H2
We'll deduct ~1/4" for proper fit so you don’t have to
Outside Mount
Step 1: Decide Outside Mount if
Window opening has less than 2-1/2" depth (D) at top
You want a taller, wider, more dramatic look with extra space above, left, & right of window
Window is square/rectangular with no molding that protrudes more than 1.25"
Step 2: Measure the Width
Measure opening width (W) at the top including any molding & round up to nearest 1/4"
If space permits, add 4"-6" total (2"-3" per side) to reduce light gaps. This is your order width (width of your valance). We will not make adjustments
Actual fabric will be about 1/2" more narrow than the valance on each side to accommodate hardware & motor
